AUTOBODY EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS, who has 60 year old "roots" in the collision industry, is a natural extension in a long line of products which includes paint and supplies.
Autobody Color Company, Inc. was originally opened as NASON Paint Store in Smithville, MO at the end of World War II and moved to St. Joseph in 1949 where it is still located. Dan Sommerhauser joined NASON Paint Store as a delivery driver in 1962. The name "NASON Paint Store" was changed to Autobody Color and was incorporated in 1977. Dan assumed 100% ownership in 1983. The first branch was opened in 1982 in Kansas City, MO.
This corporate headquarters includes 2,400 square feet of office space, and 7,600 square feet of warehouse. Autobody Color employs 23 professionals to serve our customers. It is truly a family affair.
This wealth of experience has allowed the Autobody Color team to keep their finger on the pulse of the collision repair industry. This knowledge and market opportunity led Dan to create AUTOBODY EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS, a 1-stop shop for all of your shop needs. Our services include shop layout, equipment installation, filter service, booth repair and we'll even help you plan a booth relocation.
